Christine and her husband fell in love with the Gers many years ago and bought a holiday home here. In 2004, they moved here permanently from the UK. They started their new life in France with their two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs and two cats.
In 2005 Christine started a business as a Marchand de Biens (Property Developer) for the purchase, renovation and resale of property (mainly ruins) which covered all aspects of property from the initial search, costings, planning, utility connections, on site work then to the advertising, client visits and resale. Being a small business, for many of the labouring activities Christine was a willing pair of hands, learning practical skills and gaining knowledge from the Artisans along the way from Pierre Apparente (exposed stone) to Fosse Septiques (septic tanks)!
Following the retirement of her husband, it was a natural progression for Christine to turn to estate agency having been actively involved in many of the aspects of the job previously, including having long-term property rentals. She has worked in the industry for a number of years and joined our team in 2024. Her building and renovation expertise, in addition to her engaging personality, attention to detail and her comprehensive approach, make her a wonderful asset for the team. She is the person we turn to when we need an opinion on the multitude of issues that buildings can throw at us!
Christine is an animal and nature lover. When not working, she has three adopted Patou dogs and a husband to keep her occupied! They love travelling in their camping car, particularly down to Spain which is an easy journey from the Gers.

Do I need planning permission for minor works like that?In my work as an Estate Agent, as well as a Translator, Interpreter and Consultant, I am frequently confronted by the question of whether planning permission is needed for more minor works to properties and, if so, what form that permission needs to take. In all cases, the works should have been notified in advance to the local authorities via what is known as the Déclaration préalable de travaux. What is a Déclaration préalable de travaux (Prior Declaration Of ...
